One of the most thrilling aspects of life in Christ is the fact we are all on equal ground. We each have the same opportunity and potential to understand God’s precious word. You can hear from God through the pages of holy writ. You do not require the scholar or the intellect who has an array of degrees to explain the deep things of God. You are not required to know Greek and Hebrew. You need not attend seminary. You do not need a vast library of commentaries, dictionaries, and study tapes. All you need is your King James Bible and a thirst for the “living water” and a hunger for the “bread of life”. The Bible is for the “common” man who has entered into an “uncommon” relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ through faith. The promise of new life in Christ through spiritual rebirth endows us with the mind of Christ.
“For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ” (1 Corinthians 2:16).
The Christian life is not intellectual, it’s spiritual and one of faith. Do not ever feel that you are a “have not” and cannot understand the scriptures. Regardless of your gender, age, education, or background, you can know God. God has preserved and provided His very word in the English language so we can all feast on its fullness. What has He told you
today through His precious word?
