Feeling condemned or worthless?

The daily reminder of our frail humanity often casts doubt and guilt that stifles our growth and genuine joy in the Lord Jesus Christ. You know exactly what I’m talking about. Our sudden temper resulting in unkind words. It may be our lethargic complacency and neglect of spiritual matters. Perhaps it’s our carnal thoughts or foolish deeds. It might even be our judgmental spirit. What is the answer? What is the solution?

Should we simply bear down and work harder? Is our difficulty from a lack of regimented discipline? Is our spiritual crash due to the loss of holy standards and from a failure to consume performance enhanced principles? Maybe we need to pray more, read more, and believe more. I don’t know, maybe we should nail the Lord Jesus to the cross again and spill more blood! No! No! No!

Turn in faith fully to the Lord Jesus and receive what He has already done! Walk in Him today the same way you received Him. “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:” (Colossians 2:6). How did you first receive Him? Were you helpless and hopeless? That’s what you must see yourself as apart from Jesus Christ this very moment. You still need Him. You can do nothing without Him. It’s not a partnership deal between you and Him, but rather, it’s Christ and Christ alone. All of Him. Accept what He has done for you. Learn and believe this truth and it will set you free.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit” (Romans 8:1).

Are you in Christ? Then there is no condemnation. Get that! Let that truth sink in to your core being. No condemnation!

You say, “But you don’t understand. I’ve sinned!” Are you referring to the sin Jesus Christ died for? Do you mean the sin which has already been destroyed by Christ? The past, present, and future sin that was dissolved with one sacrifice and offering? That sin? Do you not hear the Holy Scripture with clear understanding? My advice? Stop moaning and start rejoicing. Stop wallowing in past failures and start worshiping the one who is worthy…Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ for doing for you what you could not and cannot do for yourself.

The next time someone attempts to condemn you, flee to Jesus and remember what the Son of the living God has already done. It is finished! But what do we do if we sin? Repent (turn from) that sin by turning TO Jesus. Follow and love Jesus Christ. But DO NOT allow Satan or anyone else to condemn you.

Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us ” (Romans 8:33-34).

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world ” (1 John 2:1-2).
