“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
This post is not driven by my personal preference or interpretation of Scripture. It’s an absolute, narrow, simple truth in the Holy Bible and any reasonable person will give serious consideration to its claim. I am fully aware that those words mean nothing to some people because they have a “humanistic” viewpoint of life. To them, the Bible is a book like any other book. They actually think those who vehemently believe that the Bible is the word of God are simple minded idiots who live in a glass box and preach intolerance to the rest of the dying world. They believe truth is “subjective” and bends with each person’s opinion and philosophy in life. Okay, that’s fair enough. Each of us has a God given will to choose right from wrong. This is evident from the passionate debates among people today over many issues in life. But please know that GOD is right 100% of the time.
What is truth? Some would argue that I am not the final authority on truth. Some would ask, what makes you right? Others would identify me as a mean-spirited, narrow minded, religious zealot who is on a mission to win others over to my side. I’ve got news for you; truth is not truth because I say it is; truth is truth because God says it is. He used men to write and preserve His written word. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” (2 Timothy 3:16). And, “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost ” (2 Peter 1:21). If you are smarter than God and choose to debate Him on the subject, go ahead, that’s your choice.
I’m not the final authority. Truth is not right because I endorse it. It’s obvious to those who know me, I am very passionate, narrow minded, and zealous for the written word of God, and I do indeed long for others to believe and receive it as the absolute and final authority but that does not demand your acceptance of it. It’s your choice, and I know that.
God has given all of us what we need through the written word in order to obtain life everlasting and to possess peace that passes all understanding, but He has chosen to give you a choice in the matter—eternal life or eternal death. In His sovereign will, He has chosen not to annihilate your will and force you to choose Jesus Christ and life.
Let me prove my point. The scripture says, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, NOT WILLING THAT ANY SHOULD PERISH, BUT THAT ALL SHOULD COME TO REPENTANCE” (2 Peter 3:9).
Now if God is not willing that ANY should perish and that ALL should come to repentance, why do some people perish and some never come to repentance? Why are all people not saved? Some say it’s because a sovereign God has chosen for some to perish and some to never come to repentance. Do you believe the Bible? What did we just read? The Lord is not willing that ANY should perish and that ALL should come to repentance. Do the words “not willing” mean “not willing?” Every man, woman, boy, and girl has a free will to choose. If God “chose” for us then no one would perish. Remember, God is NOT WILLING for any to perish and is willing for all to repent. The instrument God has “chosen” to use in order to guarantee eternal life or eternal condemnation is BELIEF. He said it, not me. “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil” (John 3:18-19).
Jesus Christ died on the cruel Roman cross for your sins. He was buried and remained in the grave three days. He rose from the grave and ascended to the Heavenly Father above where He is seated at the right hand of God in final authority. He is coming again. Do you believe in Him—Jesus Christ? Do you trust Jesus Christ? “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
