Who cares!

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you” (1 Peter 5:7).

I know human nature. Remember the days of care free, worry free, stress free, simple life? That would be BEFORE those teenage years, right? When we were children and didn’t have a worry in the world. Life was just “fun” back then. Mom and Dad took care of the medical, clothing, food, and household expenses. Then it all started. We started growing up and incurring more responsibilities. Oh sure, there were great times and good memories, but the longer we live the more trial we experience and some (many) of those experiences in life really hurt. I don’t like them! They bring with them worry, fear, doubt, sorrow, and grief and often put that nagging pit in the middle of your gut.

Unfortunately, we are all susceptible to those unwanted trials for the rest of our lives. Personally, I’m glad God allows them to be spread out over a period of time! My Multiple Sclerosis has worsened over a “period of time” which has allowed us to make adjustments along the way. That’s been hard enough but I cannot imagine what it would be like to progress from good, poor, bad, and worse in the short period of one year. Many of us, at one time or another has faced situations that seemed unbearable. But somehow we made it through the fiery trial, came out on the other side more refined, and were more prepared for the next storm.

You may be in the midst of that unwanted trial or circumstance at this very moment in your life. (I’m sorry you are hurting.) How should we deal with this reality? Is there hope and help? Is there something to encourage and strengthen our heart? Who cares?

Although encouragement from friends and improved circumstances may provide some temporary relief, the greatest source of lasting strength comes directly from Jesus Christ. I think these are some of the most encouraging words in Holy Scripture. “…for he careth for you.” He cares for me! Wow!

So today, and every day, why not cast ALL of your care upon Him? Who cares? Jesus cares! He cares for YOU! Love and trust Him and discover strength, joy, and peace in the midst of your suffering.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might” (Ephesians 6:10).

One Response to “Who cares!”

  1. Don Says:

    Right again Forrest,

Your gentle and timely reminders are like the Holy Sprit, right here waiting to carry us. I am so glad that we will leave this mortal body and one day put on immortality. Suffering is never easy, and yet Christ paid it all. Reminds me of that old hymn,”When I can read my Title Clear.”

    We love you.

    In Christ,
