“He came unto his own, and his own received him not” (John 1:11).
And how did He come? He came without spot and without blemish for all to behold. Look at Him. Do you find fault with Him? Do you see any sin in His life? No!
“Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot
:” (1 Peter 1:18-19).
“Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth” (Isaiah 53:4-7).
We cannot say the same. Like all men we’ve erred from the truth. Every man has gone his own way. We have sinned and come short of the glory of God which is in Christ Jesus. Do you know this? The God of heaven became man, full of grace and truth, to give life to all who would believe. Will you believe?
“He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God” (John 1:11-13).
You cannot bring life to yourself. The blood flowing through your veins provided no eternal life. The will of your flesh gave no life. The will of a loving parent gave you no life. God gives life to all who believe. Abundant and eternal life. Will you believe the record? “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God” (1 John 5:11-13). Do you believe?
Remember and rejoice in this truth. Keep believing Him. Keep following Him. Keep knowing Him. Keep lovng Him. “I once was lost, but now am found. Was blind but now I see.”
