“Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ
” (Ephesians 1:2).
I think most of understand that the divine benefit, favor, and gift of God [His grace] is bestowed upon and given freely to those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour. It’s available to all. “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,” (Titus 2:11).
Furthermore, His inner peace, quietness, and rest are ours through the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ. Peace that passes all understanding and peace that endures in the midst of the most troublesome storms of life. I think of the Disciples being in that little boat being tossed about by the tumultuous waves and Jesus sleeping right through it. When He was awakened by the fearful screams of the Disciples, He simply commanded “Peace be still” and the storm obeyed Him. “And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm
” (Mark 4:39). I love these realities and hope you know them. Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
I’d like to make some practical application if I may. How about allowing His grace to flow through our lives and affect those around us? Be gracious. Give a lot of grace. Jesus does. How about allowing His peace to affect those around us? Stop contending and be calm and at rest. Be a healing balm to those around you who are wounded by the harsh and uncaring jabs of others. Give grace. Give peace. Give Christ! “Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.” May your day be filled with His great grace and peace.
