“Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father
?” (John 14:9).
More than anything, I desire that you know Christ. I mean really know Him. Not only as your Saviour from the penalty of sin but as the God of Heaven. All of the fullness of the Godhead bodily is in Christ Jesus.
“Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us
” (John 14:8). Philip said to Jesus if you will show us the Father we will be satisfied. Give us something more than yourself. Something spectacular. Give us divine revelation into the character and greatness of the Father. We do the same thing, often searching for something more. Things that will make us happier and more fulfilled.
Do you not know dear believer? All of God is fulfilled in Christ. Christ is in you! You lack nothing for godliness and holy living. Peace, joy, and love can be yours in Christ. Appropriate by faith the realities of what you are in Christ. As you grow in knowledge of Christ your life will change for the better.
