More Thoughts on Grace

The following are some thoughts shared by Don Ortolano (our small group Bible study leader). Ponder this.

Grace brings us freedom to do

something else—a freedom to enjoy the rights and the privileges of being out from under slavery and

allowing others such freedom. It’s freedom to be creative and think of unique ways to further the Kingdom! The only restrictions are those imposed by God…not man

It is a freedom to become all that He meant you to be, (don’t get hung up worrying how he leads others). You can be YOU! It is a freedom to have a relationship with Christ in an independent and personal way. That freedom is then released to others so they can be who they are meant to be—different from you!

There is no way God wants cloned Christians so that we all think alike and look alike and sound alike and act alike. The body of Christ has beautiful variety and diversity.

So be creative…be an artist…not a copier.”

This made me think of the unique you. How God has given each of us talents, desires, passions, emphasis, and personality. I’m so grateful that you can be you and God uses you! This is Bible.

1 Corinthians 12:17-21 teaches this. “If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where

were the smelling? But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. And if they were all one member, where were the body? But now are they many members, yet but one body. And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.”

Let others have, and enjoy, the freedom to be all God wants them to be. Let our only restrictions be those which God places on us through His written word of truth. We can trust Him. He will direct us. Let’s be all God wants us to be. “We are His and He is ours.” As we grow in Him and in our unique calling, we will learn to be grace givers. Giving others the freedom to be all that God wants them to be without imposing our will and what we think they should be.
