It’s Not My Problem

1 Corinthians 12:26 says, “And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.”

Here is something we should all ponder. Let’s say on the way to bed you stump your little toe on the door jamb. As it begins to throb in pain, imagine the brain saying to the toe, “Sorry, little buddy, it’s not my problem. Hope you get better.” That’s not what happens. The brain instructs the leg to elevate the foot. Then, it tells the hand to massage the little toe. The mouth chimes in with some groans and moans of sympathy and compassion. The whole body is working together to render aid. Members of the body care for other parts of the body that are hurting.

How much more should we, in the Body of Christ, go to the aid of brothers and sisters who are suffering? Your problem becomes my problem. Too many of us unfortunately are AWOL in the Christian faith. For whatever reason we turn to ourselves and forget about those in the Body of Christ.  We simply don’t get involved in others lives. How is Christ directing you today?
