It Really is Finished
My life, even as a Christian, is marked with the memory of my sins. You may be asking “Which ones.” The same ones YOU have committed. This reality keeps me humble. I have NOTHING good to offer God but Christ alone. I stand only in this promise. “In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:” (Colossians 1:14). God forbid that I should ever boast. Believer, our sins, all of them, are forgiven. A difficult truth to fully receive, I know. But the perfect righteousness of Christ is imputed to me. To you. We are acceptable to God based solely on the holy merits of Christ. It is this unmerited favor, this amazing grace, that causes us to love Jesus for His unspeakable gift. Remember today, and always, believer, it is ALL CHRIST! All the time. Never me. Never you. To HIM [CHRIST] be glory, both now and forever! Amen.
