My take on control, fear, paranoia, and self-righteousness. There they
stand. Clutching the cold steel bars of their cell. Gazing at you with
condemning eyes of judgment. Wagging their head with disapproval as
you walk joyfully in the freedom of Christ. They cry out, “Come and
separate yourself with us as we study the things we should and should
not do. Come away from the people of the world lest you be tempted and
tainted.” You reject their invitation, choosing rather to remain in
the liberty wherewith Christ has made you free. Letting the light of
Jesus so shine before others who are blinded by the prince of
darkness. Realizing you are in the world but not of it. Walking the
path Jesus lights. The path He directs you in.
