The Propitiation for my Sins

“And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world” (1 John 2:2). This is a great truth. Propitiation means that Jesus Christ satisfied the just and holy demands of God regarding sin. He is the only one who can. God requires sinless perfection and only Christ meets that requirement. “…for the sins of the whole world” does not mean everyone’s sin is propitiated. The Bible is crystal clear. We enter into this reality by believing in and receiving Christ. His propitiation is not limited. He died for all. The sacrifice, the shed blood, the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ is sufficient for the sins of the whole world. But sadly, all will not believe.
