Keep Believing

Consider this. How many times have you heard “If you have faith it will happen.” Then, when it doesn’t, you, and others, doubt your faith. “I must not have strong enough faith.” “There must be some sin preventing God from answering my prayer.” “I must not be praying correctly.”

Scriptures like, “Ask anything in my name and I will do it,” “With God, all things are possible,” are used to support the “just believe” crowd. But what about this? “And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:” (Hebrews 11:39). “Received NOT the promise.”

Avoid measuring faith by visible, tangible results. Trust God even if your specific request goes unanswered the way you desire. Others will spout all the verses that support their particular theology. But we have a responsibility to “rightly divide the word of truth.

You keep right on trusting God. Don’t let others who are lazy in the study of God’s word cause you to doubt. God hears you. Trust Him. His will be done. Keep believing even if you do not see the promise.
