Love…the greatest of these
I guess if we could choose the single greatest attribute of “love” found in 1 Corinthians 13, it would have to be this one. Love never fails. Wow!
What an amazing promise from Holy Scripture. I pray for you: “that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God” (Ephesians 3:17–19).
The clearest mark of true discipleship is the love we have for one another. “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another” (John 13:35). What is the greatest evidence of our true Christianity? “And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity [love]” (1 Corinthians 13:13).
