Put On Christ

But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof” (Romans 13:14).

If we would endeavor to make no provision for the flesh then we must put on the Lord Jesus Christ. Christ is the armor that protects us from the wiles of the devil and from the fleshly lusts which war against the soul. And do I need to list out those pesky annoyances in our Christian life? We know them. We know the sin that doth so easily beset us. We recognize those sins that reoccur in our lives. We know the fight, the struggle, and the wrestling to faithfully follow our Lord and obey Him.

Remember the admonition of His word. “The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying” (Romans 13:12-13).

And what is the solution? How will we cover ourselves in the armor of light? How will those fiery darts of the devil be quenched? “Put on the Lord Jesus Christ

ipod the fighter free

.” He is all truth, righteousness, peace, and power. He is light. Turn fully to the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. As our minds are filled with the knowledge and grace of Christ, as we grow in Him, and as we are rooted and built up in Him, we then clothe ourselves in the full armor of the Lord. Our victory is Christ.

Forrest, thank you so much for doing these devotionals each day. They are such a blessing to me!

    Forrest,

This “gem of the faith”, is so real that Paul understood what was happening in the first century church at Rome. He would understand it would happen in the 21st century church. The answer is still the same. The remedy is still the same. The relieve is still the same. The solution to the problem has never been better. It has remained the same. It is the Lord Jesus Christ.

As a man puts on a coat, we must put on Christ. The Bible teaches that we can have (His Mind, His patience, His Love, His endurance, and His final victory.) What a coat of protection He is to us.

    And it only has begun.
