Victory is Yours

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil

” (Ephesians 6:11).

Here’s something to ponder today. Putting on the whole armor of God is simply putting on Christ. Have you ever thought about this? Jesus is all truth. He is righteousness. Jesus is our helmet of salvation. He is the gospel of truth, the shield of faith, and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God.

Jesus has defeated the enemy. He alone is our victory. In Christ we are more than conquerors. Dwell on Christ today and in faith appropriate the glorious realities of whom and what you are in Him. “And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father” (Galatians 4:6). Christ in you. Victory is yours!

    I used to ponder that verse about the armor and think that I never did enough with that armor. Then I came to know that the armor is Christ…that it is He who works in me, both to will and to do. I am safe in Christ…I am safe in the armor that He gives me. It is God’s truth, God’s righteousness, God’s peace, God-given faith, God’s salvation (in Christ alone), and the Holy Spirit given to us. When I am weak (and I am all the time) then the strength that is mine is God-given. Thanks be to God for His good love and grace.
