A Little Leaven

Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you. A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump

” (Galatians 5:7-9).

What is the truth according to Scripture? Read the entire book of Galatians carefully and you’ll discover that the Apostle Paul is warning the believers to “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage” (Galatians 5:1). Paul the Apostle was reproving those who were attempting to keep the law as a means of pleasing and satisfying God and warning about false teachers who were mixing in some leaven with grace. He was warning the church about spiritual bondage wrought by attempting to keep the law. Watch out! A little leaven, leavens the whole lump.

O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh

?” (Galatians 3:1-3).

Jesus has changed everything. Keep loving and following Christ. Purpose to know Him more each day. Live by the grace

and by the truth He has brought to all who believe. Let Christ direct your life today. Turn fully to Him. Trust Him to produce in you the fruit He desires to bring forth. “Not I, but Christ.” This is the truth that sets us free. Has a little leaven crept back into your life?

    Forrest,

How true this is when we take our eyes off of Christ. Let us renew our walk in Him each day. He is with us and wants to strengthen us in all we do.

Stay strong in your daily walk and continue to feed us with these timely, God given devotions.

In Christ and in our prayers,
    Don
