How's your love life?
“Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love
” (Revelation 2:4).
It’s time for a good self-examination. As true Christians, our first love was Jesus Christ. Remember? Not works. Not programs. Not principles. Not ministries. Christ and Christ alone. He was all we knew and He was sufficient. We worked diligently in Christian endeavors but our love for Christ was the motivation. We were involved in many different church programs but Christ was always the head. Biblical principles found life and relevance in the person of Christ. Ministries were orchestrated and directed by Him.
Have you left your first love? Is He still the center of your thoughts? Do you think about Him? Is He your passion and purpose? Remember what we were without Him and what we’ve become with Him and let this constrain us to love Him.
