In Sincerity

“Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen

Do you love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity? Pious outward behavior might fool others but not Him. He knows our sincere love for Him—or lack of it. Our outward lifestyle can be covered in hypocrisy and two-facedness. Our words can seem holy. Our actions can seem good and godly. But Jesus knows our real passion and desire. Our sincere love for Christ is known when no one else can see, when no one else can hear, when no one else observes our behavior. Our sincere love for Christ is known in the meditation of our heart and the focus of our mind. This is the mark of true Christ-like character.

Is outward obedience a mark of true discipleship? Does outward commitment prove your love for Christ? Not necessarily. We can all fake it. Although you seem good and diligent, I personally do not know your sincerity. And you do not know mine. But He knows. Loving Christ in sincerity will result in a genuine personal desire to follow Him and godly sorrow when we do not. Loving Jesus Christ in sincerity will alter the way we view ourselves and others. Loving the Lord Jesus Christ will enable us to discover the true meaning of grace. Grace be with all who love the Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. “Thank you Lord Jesus for giving me what I do not deserve and NOT giving me what I do deserve!

    Thank you for this meaningful post. Dr Strong tells us that the Greek word for sincerity means “incorruptible.” Boy that sure would be nice if our politicians were without corruption?

    To be Christ like is really, daily striving to be like Him. That is our goal as Believers. I want to strive to be like Him.
