Is Christ real to you?
“And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life” (1 John 5:20).
Is Christ distant and impersonal to you? Be honest. This question will require some serious thought and contemplation. Only you really know the answer. Is Jesus Christ real to you? Is He personal, close, and genuine? He can be.
You can talk with Him in prayer. You can walk with Him each day in faith. You can hear His voice as a sheep hears the Shepherd. This is good news. I am not speaking in generalities here but specifically of Jesus Christ. Does this really matter? According to God it does. Consider what the Bible says.
Colossians 1:18-19 – “And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in
all things he
might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;”
Colossians 2:9-10 – “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him
, which is the head of all principality and power:”
Matthew 28:18 – “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth
.”
John 14:6 – “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
John 14:9 – “Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father
; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?”
God the Father is pleased that all fulness dwell in Christ. We are complete in Him. All power is given to Christ in Heaven above and in the Earth beneath. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. If we have seen Him we have seen the Father—for they are one. You’ll see this reality more in Scripture as you grow in Christ.

Understanding will be yours as Christ becomes your all in all. You will discern what is true and what is pleasing to Him. You will not only know eternal life but abundant life in your current mortal state. Christ will become your life!
Beware; the Devil desires to cloud your mind with something other than Christ—a rule, a law, a high standard, or holy principle that does not specifically center in Christ. You will be tempted to cling to anything other than Jesus Christ and His preeminence and power in all things.
I exhort you to know Him. Ask Him. “Lord Jesus help me to know you and to love you sincerely
.” It is the will of God that all fullness dwell in Christ. Stop playing around and seek true Christianity which centers in the person of Christ. Find love, joy, and peace in Jesus. Get direction from Him. Keep loving Him. Continue following Him. Long to know Him. Appropriate the reality of whom you are in Christ by faith. Start today!
