” (2 Timothy 2:1).

This exhortation from the Apostle Paul given to young Timothy is of vital importance to each of us. We must not only view grace as the divine benefit and favor bestowed upon all men regarding eternal life through belief in the Lord Jesus Christ. But we must know and experience the active and living grace of Christ in our daily lives as believers. Listen to the admonition. “Be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus

Our ability to endure hardness and difficulties as good soldiers of Jesus Christ will come from the power of His grace. Our ability to war a good warfare and avoid the crafty entanglements of this world comes by His grace. Our resolve to strive lawfully and with integrity comes by the presence and operation of His grace. Our abilities to rest while in the midst of necessary labor for the Lord comes by His grace.

Do you know this grace? It is still found in Christ. Full and abounding grace. Grace that opens our eyes of spiritual understanding. Grace that equips us with the desire and the ability to follow Christ. Grace that teaches us to deny ungodliness and to avoid worldly lusts. And grace that teaches us to be kind, loving, and to forgive one another.

Be strong in the grace of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ by appropriating the sure realities of whom and what we are in Christ by faith. Purpose to know Him. Decide to follow Him. Long to love Him more. Is this what you want? Strength in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ? He’s there. Ready to flood our souls with His abundant grace!

It is ALL God’s Grace, isn’t it!!! And in times of difficulties I remember that God is the great Encourager. All true courage comes from the One who holds us as His own.
